Acharyaru & Gurugala Amruthavarsha in my Life

I was born after my parents performed seva at Shri Kshetra Sode. My father always used to say, Shyamala, you have special blessings from Sri Vadirajaru. I was born at home and that place once upon a time belonged to Sode Matha. The school that I studied in too belonged to Sode Matha.

Tale of Rantideva

Once there lived a noble king, Rantideva who was renowned for his humanity and generosity. Rantideva, the humble and pious king was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu.

Ahobila Kshetra – An insight – I

One such kshetra is located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh (South India) in the hills of the Eastern Ghats, about 400 kms northwest of Chennai and is popularly known as Ahobilam.

This kshetra consists of nine temples dedicated to Lord Narasimha located around a 5 km radius. In addition to these nine temples, there is a temple dedicated to Prahaladavarada Narasimha in the foothills of the mountain. Due to security reasons, many of the utsava idols of the nine shrines are kept & worshipped here in this temple.

Shri Hari – Ocean of compassion

The compassion that the Lord has on us is boundless, blemish less and timeless. Sri Raghavendra Teertha has praised our Lord in Pratha Sankalpa Gadya as “Karuna samudra Hari”. Many incidents in Srimad Bhagavata bear testimony to this wherein the Lord has given refuge to the ones who surrender firmly unto Him with unshakeable faith and has protected them from unforeseen mishappenings by means which are totally unimaginable and impossible by us. We can quote numerous examples as in the cases of Draupadi, Sudhama, Prahallada, Dhruva, Gajendra etc.

Greatness of Anu Bhashya – I

The founder of every school of Vedantic philosophy has, naturally, interpreted the brahmasutras to show that it conveys the meaning as propounded by their own school of thought. Prior to the bhashya, or commentary, of Shri Madhwacharya, there were at least 21 main interpretations of the brahmasutras already in vogue. Needless to say, each of those commentaries had superimposed their own philosophy on to the sutras, leading to their distortion and misinterpretation.

Shri Madhwacharya – I

Sri Madhvacharya is the brightest luminary in the galaxy of Indian philosophy. He is the most scholarly philosopher the world has ever witnessed. He has been aptly referred to as Poornaprajna an account of his commendable knowledge of all the shastras, languages, sciences and arts. Sri Madhvacharya appeared on the Indian Philosophical scene after the systems of Shankaracharya and Ramanujacharya had been well established. Sri Madhvacharya was not content with the interpretations of his predecessors with reference to the Vedic texts and his dissatisfaction with those interpretations led him to formulate his philosophy which is popularly known as Tatvavada. Sri Madhvacharya particularly refuted the Mayavada propounded by Sri Shankaracharya which was the dominating philosophy of his time.

Mundigegalu – I

The supremacy of the Lord has been extolled since eternity by the Vedas. The subtle meaning of the Vedas are deciphered by Vyasa sahitya. The complete essence of the eternal Vedas that are of divine origin and not a creation of human beings, is captured by the haridaasa sahitya. The literary works of the haridaasaru that revolved around the profundity of Tattvavada were amalgamated with rhythm and music and awoke the common man to the eternal realities. The
