Krishna Satyabhama

Two Embraces

Narakasura who imagined himself to be mighty, believed everything was his own and loathed Shri Krishna, was embraced by death. Satyabhama who acknowledged that all she had was Krishna’s and dedicated herself to His embarkation was embraced by Krishna.

Syamantak

Syamantaka is a national asset

When national wealth is privatised, war, remorse and untimely deaths  cannot be averted is the message sent out by Shri Krishna to the people and especially politicians.

Haridasara Mundigegalu – 6

Though He is at such an elevated level of independence, He comes down to earth and shows servitude unto His devotees. Who else, but our Supreme Father possesses such rich qualities? The Lord of the Universal Mother, the preeminent of Vedas, Lakshmi is truly rich.

Vidura Neeti

Vidura Neeti – 8

The King should follow the practices adopted by these great Emperors both for ruling and living rather than trying out something which has just emerged.

Karma Samarpane

Submitting our actions to the Lord

When a person humbly offers both good and bad deeds to Lord Śrī Hari, He not only keeps the fruits of the good deeds (punya) safe but also destroys the fruits of the bad deeds. Further, he also credits the person with merit that is lost by those who speak ill of His devotees.

Sri Raja Rajeshwara Teertharu

Shri Rajarajeshwara Teertha – An introduction

Śrī Rājarājēshwara Tīrtha was a spontaneous poet. In recognition of his erudition and poetic skills, the King of the province of Mangalooru (Vīrapratāpa Dēvarāya II) donated the land of Kāntāvara to him. An epigraph corroborating this event is preserved at the Kāntāvara Maṭa to this day.

Shri Vadiraja Yati Virachita Dashavatara Stuti – 9

Most people do not realize the contribution of ParashurAma to the kurukshetra war. He was the guru of Bhishma, Drona and Karna; in turn, Drona was the guru for the Pandavas, Kauravas and quite a few other princes. So, in effect, ParashurAma was the source for all the martial skills and knowhow used in the war.

The paryāya that inspired devotion and knowledge

As we can see every activity of the second paryāya of His Holiness Sri Vidyādhīṣa Tīrtha espouses the aspects of devotion in the divine and knowledge of the same. Hence let us dedicate these achievements in their entirety to Lord Krishna as espoused in the saying “twadīyamēva gōvinda tubhyamēva samarpayē’.

Relevance of Syamantakōpākhyāna in our lives

Satrājita, a devotee of Sūrya, worshiped him and obtained the Syamantaka gem. When he wore it and walked towards śri Kriśṇa’s palace, people began to wonder if Sūrya himself had descended on earth.
