Bhagavata Dharma

Bhagavata Dharma

  • Akshaya

“(He) will protect” should be the faith that one should have in the lotus feet of Lord. Upon constantly believing so, there shall be no fear in our life. As the saying goes “No one has suffered by keepin faith in Him”, there should be immense faith in Him. The scriptures have termed this immense faith as “Bhagavata Dharma”. We can see this in Bheemasena in Mahabharata.

Dasoham Kosalendrasya

Despite traversing a great distance of 100 yojanas, defeating the demons such as Simhike etc, Lord Hanumanta introduced himself as a faithful servant of Lord Rama without any pride and vanity. Servitude is one of the nine types of devotion (Bhakti) we have to offer to the supreme Lord. Servitude implies dedicating ourselves to the supreme Lord. There is no greater example than Lord Hanumanta for us to follow.

Tale of Nala and Damayanti – I

Nala was an embodiment of all virtues and sacrifice. There was a King by the name Bhima at Vidarbha. He was childless. Once, the sage ‘Damana’ accepted the respectful hospitality of the King and stated that the royal couple would be blessed with a precious daughter and three sons. Eventually, they begot a daughter and three sons named Damayanti, Dama, Daanta and Damana respectively.

Shri Krishnayana – I

Mother earth is the epitome of forgiveness and tolerance. She can and does bear unimaginable weight with great fortitude. However, she will never tolerate even for a moment the weight of rebuke meted out to the supreme Lord who is her consort. It is amply clear that Mother earth will never provide shelter to those who do not believe in Sri Krishna or those who despise Him.

Anjaneya’s Exemplary Devotional Anusandhaanaas:

Amongst the many extraordinary feats achieved by the devotee Anjaneya, the most notable ones are crossing the sea that was about 100 yojanas vast to locate Seeta devi in Ashokavana and carrying the Gandhamadanagiri to bring back to consciousness the monkeys that had fainted as a ramification of the weapon that was shot by Indrajit during the war of Ramayana.

Vamana Avatara – I

Amongst the infinite incarnations of Lord Vishnu, the Dashavataras are prominent and we are well versed with them. Every single form of Lord Vishnu has its own significance and they inculcate important life lessons. Vamana Avatara and other incarnations where the Almighty took physical form as a human exemplified the way of life which we can very well connect to.
